Synthetic vitamin A is one of the supplements that can contribute to allergic reactions. Skin rashes and hives are the most common symptoms. Some people may also experience allergic swelling of the hands, the mouth or the throat. The final two types of swelling can be potentially life-threatening because they can cut off the oxygen supply to lungs.

Though nearly 99 percent of the vitamins on the market are synthetic according to recent studies, new natural and organic products are being manufactured. These are starting to gain their market share as more people are understanding the benefits of such products. Whenever possible, opt for organic vitamins. There are no risks and the effectiveness of such products is very high.
